Howard Sugar’s private purchased Gerber MARK II fighting knife. The item was factory marked Gerber on one side of the blade and serial numbered 015582 on the reverse that identifies it as 1970 manufacture. The knife has a grey handle, sharpening scratches to the blade and has the matching brown leather sheath. Howard wore the knife inside his right boot legging.
In 1971, Howard B. Sugar served with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control Central (CCC) / Task Force 2 Advisory Element (TF2AE), Recon Company, assigned to Recon Team Washington and participated in the fifth High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) mission.
Sergeant (E-5) Sugar processed out of the Army in February 1972 after three years’ service with fifteen months in Vietnam.
