Wartime Laotian flag brought home by Gerald Grant after his tour with Project White Star.
Gerald Grant served eight tours in South East Asia. His first tour was in 1961 with 1st Special Forces Group (1st SFG (ABN)) assigned to Project White Star in Laos. His second and third tours were in 1962 and again in 1963 with 1st SFG (ABN) assigned to the II Corp Area in Vietnam. Gerald’s fourth tour was in 1964 with 1st SFG (ABN) assigned to the B Team in the III Corp area. Gerald’s fifth tour was with 46th Special Forces Company (46th SF Co.), Thailand. He returned to Vietnam for his sixth tour in 1967 with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Forward Operational Base #1 (FOB#1), Phu Bai. His seventh tour was in late 1968 with MAC V SOG assigned to Command and Control North (CCN), Mobile Launch Team #1 (MLT#1), Phu Bai as a Covey Rider. His final tour was in 1971 with 46th SF CO (ABN), Thailand and had a TDY (Temporary Duty) assignment to Vietnam with Forces Armee Nationale Khmer (FANK).
