James W. Graves (Jay) served multiple tours in Vietnam. His first tour was in July 1966 – July 1968 with 5th Special Forces Group (ABN) assigned to A-227 before he transferred to Project Delta (B-52), Recon Section. Jay returned for a third tour in in August 1969 – July 1970 again with Project Delta Recon Section until the unit was closed. In July 1970, Graves was reassigned to 5th SFG (ABN) A-503, Nha Trang with the Combat Reaction Platoon (CRP). Jay’s final unit was with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), assigned to Camp Long Thanh (B-53) until February 1971.
