John E. Padgett served four tours in South East Asia. His first tour was in 1967 with 5th Special Forces Group (5th SFG (ABN)) assigned to B-22, RVN. He returned for his second tour in February 1968 to June 1969 with 5th SFG (ABN) assigned to the IV Corp Mike Force. John’s third tour was in 1969 with the 46th Special Forces Company, Thailand. Padgett’s final tour in August 1970 to August 1971 with Military Assistance Command Vietnam, Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control Central (CCC) assigned as a Hatchet Forces Medic.
