Michael E. Taylor served three and a half tours in Vietnam. His first tour was in 1969 with 5th Special Forces Group (ABN), assigned to the Pleiku Mike Force and later transferred to Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control South (CCS), Recon Company. He returned for his second tour 1970 with MAC V SOG Headquarters, OPS-35, as the Command and Control North (CCN) Desk Officer. Mike extended his tour and was reassigned to Command and Control North (CCN) until he transferred to CCN, Mobile Launch Team #3 (MLT#3), Heavy Hook until he closed out the unit as the Commanding Officer (C/O) in March 1972.
Lieutenant Colonel (0-5) retired in 1991 after twenty-five years’ service with forty-two months in Vietnam.
