In 1970, Robert S. Sinton served in Vietnam with 5th Special Forces Group (ABN), A-106, Ba To. He later transferred to Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control North (CCN) / Task Force 1 Advisory Element (TF1AE), Recon Company, assigned to Recon Teams Asp and Florida. During the veteran’s tour, he took part in the 6th MAC V SOG, High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) Combat Jump. The team had formed and trained for an October insert but the mission was canceled the day before they were to insert.
Sergeant (E-5) Sinton processed out of the Army in 1972 after four years’ service with eighteen months in Vietnam.
