Bruce Hill’s US issued uniform top that was badged on the left sleeve with a US Special Forces Shoulder Sleeve Insignia (SSI), the left chest pocket has a Vietnamese printed Special Commando Unit (SCU) patch that is surmounted with a hand embroidered RT CRUSADER tape and US Basic Airborne Wings. The right chest pocket has a 1st generation, Recon Team Crusader patch that is surmounted with a nylon name tape that reads: HILL and Vietnamese Basic Airborne Wings.
In 1969, Bruce C. Hill served in Vietnam with 5th Special Forces Group (ABN) assigned to the C-Team in Nha Trang. He later transferred to Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control North (CCN), Recon Company, assigned to Recon Team Crusader.
Specialist (E-4) Hill processed out of the Army in August 1970 after three years’ service with twelve months in Vietnam.
