Don Kelly’s Bright-Light braclete that was manufactured from a Huey helicopter’s tail rotor drive chain. The chains were collected as a souvenir for teams and air crews that had been in a crash or involved in the rescue of downed aviation personnel.
In 1971, Larry “Don” Kelly served with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control North (CCN), with the A-Company Hatchet Force before he transferred to Recon Company, assigned to Recon Team Crusader.
Don later served as “One of the Fifty-Five” US Advisors in El Salvador.
Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Kelly retired from the Army in September 1990 after twenty-two years’ service with twelve months in Vietnam.
