Robert C. Green served two tours in Vietnam. His first tour was in 1967 with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Forward Operational Base #1 (FOB#1), Recon Company assigned to Recon Team Le-Loi. He returned for a second tour in 1969 assigned to the 173rd Airborne Brigade for four months before he was reassigned as the Company Commander of Charlie Company, 75th Ranger Battalion (LRRP).
Lieutenant Colonel (0-6) Green retired from the Army in October 1989 after twenty-four years’ service with twenty-four months in Vietnam.
