Captured NVA Belt and Buckle

Eldon Bargewell’s captured North Vietnamese Army (NVA) interlocking belt and buckle. The buckle is dated 1965.

Eldon A. Bargewell served two tours in Vietnam. His first tour was in 1968 with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Forward Operational Base #1 (FOB#1), Recon Company, assigned to Recon Team Michigan. He returned for a second tour in 1971 with MAC V SOG, Command and Control North (CCN) / Task Force 1 Advisory Element (TF1AE), Recon Company, assigned to Recon Team Bushmaster.

 Major General (0-8) Bargewell retired from the Army in 2007 after thirty-nine years’ service with twenty-four months in Vietnam. During his service Eldon served with Special Forces Operational Detachment Delta (SFOD-D) as an Operator and later the Unit Commander.
