Laurence “Ted” Wicorek’s Command and Control Central (CCC) beer-can insignia.
In 1970, Laurence T. Wicorek served with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control Central (CCC) assigned to the Tactical Operations Center (TOC), Special Projects Unit until he transferred to Recon Company and joined Recon Team New Mexico.
Staff Sergeant (E-6) Wicorek processed out of the Army in January 1972 after seven years’ service with eighteen months in Vietnam.
Forward Operational Base #2 was opened in 1966 and located in Kontum, Republic of Vietnam, in the II Corp area. In late 1968, the compound was renamed Command and Control Central (CCC). Then in 1971, the camp was redesignated Task Force 2 Advisory Element (TF2AE) and deactivated in March / April 1972.
