CIDG Leopard Pattern Camouflage Uniform Set

Gilbert Himes’ CIDG / Leopard pattern camouflage uniform set that was issued to him in 1963.

In January 1963, Gilbert Himes served in Vietnam with 1st Special Forces Group (1st SFG (ABN)) assigned to A-412, Boun Bing (sp), RVN (located about 3 kliks North of Cheo Rio).

Sergeant (E-5) Gilbert B. Himes processed out of the Army in 1964 after three years’ service with six months in Vietnam.

These camouflage sets were procured by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for Special Forces team operating in South East Asia prior to the creation of the Counter Insurgency Support Office (CISO).
