Elmer “Al” Boman served four tours in Vietnam. His first tour was in 1964 with Military Assistance Command Vietnam as an Assistant to General Westmorland. He returned for a second tour in 1965 with 5th Special Forces Group (ABN) as a PSY-OPS NCO attached to A-415. Al returned for his third tour in 1966 with 5th SFG assigned to B-41 Muc Wa. His final tour was in 1968 with 5th SFG (ABN) assigned to A-411.
Sergeant Major (E-9) Boman retired from the Army in April 1984 after thirty years with forty-eight months in Vietnam.
