Virgil Dillon’s issued green beret with a 5th Special Forces Group (ABN) flash applied to the face and a replaced liner with a yellow Command and Control Central (CCC) bomb burst liner.
Virgil L. Dillon served two tours in Vietnam. His his first tour in 1966-1967 with the 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division LRRPs (Long Range Recon Patrol). Virgil’s second tour was in 1971 with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Task Force 2 Advisory Element (TF2AE), Recon Company assigned to Recon Team Montana.
Master Sergeant (E-8) Dillon retired from the Army in 1986 after twenty-three years’ service with twenty-four months in Vietnam.
