Lensatic Compass

Japanese copy of the US lensatic compass that was procured by the Counter Insurgency Support Office (CISO) and issued to early reconnaissance personnel for plausible deniability. As the war progressed, these rules were laxed with the surplus of US military equipment available on the black market.

In 1963 – 1975, Conrad “Ben” Baker held the position as the Deputy Director, US Army, Counter Insurgency Support Office.
