Joseph B. Hill served two tours in Vietnam. His first tour was in 1968 with 5th Special Forces Group (ABN), assigned to A-242, Dak Pec, RVN. He returned for a second tour in 1971 with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control Central (CCC) / Task Force 2 Advisory Element (TF2AE), Recon Company, assigned to Recon Team West Virginia. After the projects were closed, Hill was reassigned to the Forces Armee Nationale Khmer (FANK) Training Program, Dong Ba Thin, RVN.
Master Sergeant (E-8) Hill retired from the Army in April 1988 after twenty-one years’ service with thirty-five months in Vietnam.
