Willie McLeod Jr. served two tours in Vietnam. His first tour was in 1970 with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control Central (CCC), Recon Company, assigned to Recon Team Colorado. He returned for a second tour in 1971 assigned to MAC V SOG, Task Force 2 Advisory Element (TF2AE / CCC).
Command Sergeant Major (E-9) McLeod retired from the Army in August 1985 after twenty-seven years, six months service with twenty-five months in Vietnam. McLeod later worked as a civilian contractor for the John F. Kennedy, Special Warfare Center (JFKSWC), Robin Sage as a Village Chief known as Papa Doc.
