RT New Mexico, 2nd Generation Patch

Laurence “Ted” Wicorek’s 2nd generation, Recon Team New Mexico patch that was removed from his uniform.

In 1971, Laurence T. Wicorek served with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control Central (CCC) / later changed to Task Force 2 Advisory Element (TF2AE) as a photographer for Project Ford Drum (low level aerial photography of the Ho Chi Minh Trail). The veteran extended his tour, transferred to Recon Company, and was assigned to Recon Team New Mexico.

Staff Sergeant (E-6) Wicorek processed out of the Army in 1972 after seven years’ service with eighteen months in Vietnam.
