Howard Sugar’s SOG issued black boonie that he modified by adding a Para cord chin strap.
In 1971, Howard B. Sugar served with Military Assistance Command Vietnam Studies and Observations Group (MAC V SOG), Command and Control Central (CCC) / Task Force 2 Advisory Element (TF2AE), Recon Company, assigned to Recon Team Washington. During the veteran’s tour he participated in the fifth MAC V SOG, High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) Combat Jump on October 11, 1971.
Sergeant (E-5) Sugar processed out of the Army in February 1972 after three years’ service with fifteen months in Vietnam.
